Grace Will Lead Us Home
(4.27mb MP3 file)

presented by the Knox Youth Chorus and Choir

(Matthew 20: 19-34; 21:1-11)

words and music by David Buckley

soloists: Shaelah Grace Buckley, Dave Buckley

1) There is a song of love, long ago

That’s meant to set us free

It was in the time of this story, we know

That we saw how love is meant to be

2) Amazing grace, how wonderful the thought

That’s there for you and me

We shall overcome for God’s will shall be done

And the blind will all begin to see

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!

3) Through many dangers, toils and snares

Our Lord has already gone

The grace that dwells in His strength is ours

And that power will make us belong

4) The Lord has promised goodness to stay

From where we’ll never roam

What now is lost will be found on the way

And grace will lead us home

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!

Hosanna in the Highest!

5) Amazing grace, how wonderful the thought

That’s there for you and me

We shall overcome for God’s will shall be done

And the blind will all begin to see

Sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna!

Sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna!

Sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna!

The Road to Peace (6.1mb MP3 file)

presented by the Knox Youth Chorus and Choir

(Mark 10: 46-52; 11: 1-11)

words and music by David Buckley

soloists: Leslie Powers, Len Berry

(During instrumental children spread cloaks)

(Solo:)

1) It came around the break of dawn

The excitement in the air

We were near the road He was travelling on

And they said He’d soon be there

They said He’d soon be there

2) On a donkey’s back would come a carpenter’s son

But now everyone heard more

Of the proof in all the miracles done

And expectations of what was in store.

What was now in store

3) What would soon be said, who would soon be led

By this holy, powerful king?

He could raise the dead, all the poor were fed

And the blind would all now see,

The blind would all now see!

(Choir:) For the people knew of a glory true

That would soon pass into their sight

On the branches strewn and the clothes they threw

He would come with power and might

For the Lord had sent this amazing man

Who had courage to rally a call

And the powers at hand would soon understand

What in truth is meant for all

(Youth:) Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest!

Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest!

(During instrumental children spread cloaks)

4) Now the land around had been trampled down

By the army that had conquered their land

And all now feared what could disappear

By the powers now at hand

The powers now at hand

5) But as clear as day, we could see a way

To begin to find our dream

Of a holy land, of a holy plan

And to pave the road to peace

The road ahead to peace

(Choir:) For the people knew of a glory true

That would soon pass into their sight

On the branches strewn and the clothes they threw

He would come with power and might

For the Lord had sent this amazing man

Who had courage to rally a call

And the powers at hand would soon understand

What in truth is meant for all

(Youth:) Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest

Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest

(All:) Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest

Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest

(Choir:) Sing Hosanna, sing hosanna, sing hosanna!

(All:) Sing Hosanna, sing hosanna, sing hosanna!

Sing Hosanna, sing hosanna, sing hosanna!

A Wonderful Love (4.2mb MP3 file)

presented by the Knox Youth Chorus and Choir

words and music by David Buckley

(During instrumental children spread palm leaves)

(All:)

1) The time that He passed by their way

The people sang and cheered

But near the clothes and branches they’d lay

Some watched Him pass in fear

2) For this was He who’d raised the dead

And caused the blind to see

Now look at how these souls were led

How could this come to be?

Chorus:

“Hosanna to God in the Highest”, was sung

“Blest be the time at hand!

“Hosanna to God in the Highest”, was sung

The Lord has appeared in this man.

3) There was a way to silence it all

That still is used today

Where lives are crushed and truth made small

And grace is all thrown away

4) But there’s a road our Lord still walks

To know and to revere

Where peace endures and love’s unlocked

And grace removes every tear

Refrain:

Amazing grace, a wonderful love

Blest be the time at hand

We shall overcome, it’s already begun

The Lord will fulfill his command.

Sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna!

Sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna!

Sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna!

My Confidant and Friend (6mb MP3 file)

(Mary’s Easter Song)

presented by the Knox Youth Chorus and Choir

words and music by David Buckley
It was early that morning and the sky was dark

She remembered and opened up her eyes

And again came the tears about the one she loved

And the pain he had realized

Still hopeful of something in a promise made

She got up and got ready for the day

When she opened the door nobody heard a sound

And she quietly went her way

And walking through the dark

She heard the calling of a bird

And from a voice inside

She heard the gentle flow of words:

“Fear not, for I’m forever with you

Even past the end

For you, Mary, will always be

My confidant and friend”

She looked up and above the stars could still be seen

But the sky now glowed the richest blue

As the wind began blowing with a gentle touch

She believed that the words were true

Now others were waiting by the gate ahead

Who had promised to help by being there

And together they walked ahead in solemn steps

With the sadness and grief they shared

Ahead appeared a ray of light

Far brighter than they’d known

And then a voice called out, “Fear not!

For this to you is shown:

The one you seek cannot be found

With those who’ve passed away

You’ll meet him soon in Galilee.

This to his friends now say.”

Mary sat weeping

As she pondered what they’d heard

“Why are you weeping?”

Came a voice that called to her

Saying, “Who is it you’re looking for?”

And she tried to tell him why

Then she looked and saw the light of love

That shone there in his eyes.

“Fear not, for I’m forever with you

Even past the end

For you, Mary, will always be

My confidant and friend

And I will always be with you

Even when we seem apart

Just listen to the words of love

From deep inside your heart”

For a moment she held him,

But he said, “It’s time to go

Now go and tell the others

Of the glory that we know

And I will meet you soon again

For you know there is a way

The God of love and life is here

And for all through every day

For love transcends the darkest fears

And shines for all to feel

From deep inside we’ll always know

The power of love is real

Fear not, for I’m forever with you

Even past the end

For you, in truth, will always be

My confidant and friend
