Willard Allan retired as choir director at First, Thunder Bay, Ont., after 40 years – but he will continue to sing with the choir. Last December, the choir and the congregation honoured him with music, including a violin solo by his 12-year-old grandson Nathan. Allan also received a Lake Superior watercolour by artist and fellow choir member Evelyn Konrad.
