General Gordon’s tomb #2

Several decades ago, my wife and I took a tour to Israel and we visited both that church and the Garden Tomb, where I had the honour of conducting a communion service. It seems obvious to me that both sites can’t be the right one.

Maybe we need to heed the angelic messengers who said to the women who visited the tomb: “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”

Editor’s note: Had General Gordon had the archeological information we now have, he might not have erred in challenging Early Church history. Today, scholars are as certain as they can be that the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the site of Jesus’ tomb. They are even more certain that Gen. Gordon’s suggestions are incorrect.
