Jess Powers, in her drama last night asked us, do you know where you came from? Do you know where you are going? There is no map of life for us to follow, we blindly look toward the future, praying, hoping and trying for good things. Do we ever really know what path of life we will walk down? Will it be a leisurely stroll, or a quick paced race? Only time will tell, and our faith will guide us. Even if our path, isn’t what we wanted it to be, have faith knowing that there is a divine plan for each of us.
So then, just as you received Jesus Christ as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted up and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2: 6,7
Worship was amazing last night, lifting my spirit and exciting my soul in preparation for the week. Derek McLeod shared the word and it was good, while the praise band rocked on … It’s impressive, and perhaps a little overwhelming, to see that many people so excited about praising God, and it is good! Have you ever found that you didn’t know how much you missed something until you found it again? That was my return back to Presbyterian Youth gathering. It’s been far too long, but how fantastic to see a couple old friends, and quickly make new ones as we worship, play and gather together. I’m stoked to be a part of CY09 with so many great people. I am a part of the health care team, a branch of the Community Life team, along with Kathy Leitch (Florence Nightingale) and Dan Bellamy (Buttercup).
