Some call it serendipity: Rev. Dr. Ted Siverns, an active member of his presbytery and involved with St. Andrew’s Hall as well, worked with the Taiwanese community in Vancouver. Earlier this year he was invited to visit Taiwan, where he brought greetings to their General Assembly from our church. (His report will appear in the January Record.) That led to an invitation to teach at the Yu-Shang Seminary, for which he has been improving his non-existent Mandarin. In the photo, a calmer moment over the summer in Kelowna as Ted and his wife Betty were wished God speed by friends Rev. Betty McLagan, Marge Henry and Janie Goodwin.
