It was a homecoming, in a way, for Rev. Harvey Self, moderator of this year’s General Assembly. He grew up near Camp Geddie, Nova Scotia, was a camper there and later a counselor. In July he returned to dedicate Smith House, which has been lovingly restored as a home of spiritual care for the leadership of the church. He did receive a Camp Geddie sweatshirt; he so proudly wears as he talks about his camping experiences. In the other photograph, he is seen with the Smith family, for whom the care centre is named.
