The Spirit Passeth Understanding

Re The Universal Word, December 2009

Dr. McLelland tries to understand the Trinity, and the Holy Spirit in particular, with a worldly mind. This is not possible because as Jesus said the Holy Spirit “passeth all understanding.” Recall the test of faith in 2 Corinthians 13:5. When Holy Spirit-filled believers say “Jesus is God” it is something they know and are not just thinking. Christians believe many such fundamentals; surely this does not make us prejudicial and arrogant.

References to life outside of earth and to universalism are irrelevant to the issue of our need for a Saviour. God sees fallen people and cares not if they are Scottish, Indian or Martian.
