Stroud, Innisfil, Ont., may have turned 100 last year, but the congregation’s roots reach back more than 150 years to the area’s settlers.
To celebrate their building’s centennial, the congregation worshipped with the moderator, restored and dedicated their stained glass windows, added an elevator, and restored their cornerstone.
Although there were no historical artifacts tucked away inside the stone — as some of the congregation’s lifelong members had hoped — it was freshly inscribed with the centennial year and reinstalled with items that will give future generations a glimpse into the congregation of today.
