My grandson, who is all grown up now and going into the Catholic priesthood, is one of God’s greatest gifts to me. I loved him as a little boy and love him as a man.
For four months I laboured. It was to be a love gift I would leave to my girls and grandchildren. Oh, the work involved!
My experiences on ships (not “boats”, I’ve been told a dozen times) have been memorable. The two Atlantic crossings ( to and back from Europe,) years ago, convinced me that the dry land was meant for humans, not the wild seas.
I am amused how expressions have changed through the years and unless you are speaking to someone of your own vintage, you can be completely misunderstood.
If I had refused to do some things twice I would have lost out on a lot of wonderful experiences. I think of all the songs I have sung…once is never enough.
