Burma Election Results Greeted with Wary Optimism

Although opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and her National League for Democracy (NLD) won most of the seats in parliamentary by-elections in Burma (Myanmar) on April 1, the results were greeted with wary optimism by Christian organizations.

Their stories are varied. They come from different cultures and speak different languages. But they hold something in common: these former refugees now call Thunder Bay home. And it’s all thanks to a church that has been sponsoring and supporting them for more than two decades.
