It’s Bigger than Children

The disciples were squabbling about rank, and Jesus brought in a child to make a point about welcome. And what a point. Because he didn’t say that whoever welcomes a child does the work of the faithful. Or serves God well. Or gets brownie points

Why Do We Live In Families?

The people of our family take care of us and teach us about the world as we grow up. Our parents, brothers, sisters, and other relatives love us, watch over us, give us shelter, and protect us from harm. They offer us security, comfort, physical contact and care. Family provides a constant in any child’s life.

Families Theme

To my friends,
September is an exciting time of year with the start-up of school. I have a young neighbour who started school last year. He is really excited to see his old friends again. He loves to learn and one important thing he learned in Junior Kindergarten was about families.

Bullying Theme

Hello friends!

I have heard that some of you have been teasing other children at the playground—not just once in a while—but every day. Others have been telling tall tales at school about certain kids and persuading other kids not to hang out with them. I would call these things BULLYING.

Bullying and You

You probably know about Binky Barnes who is Arthur’s classmate in the Arthur cartoon TV show. He starts out early in the stories as part of a group (known as “The Tough Customers”) who bully others. But later, Arthur gets to know Binky and he becomes good friends with him.

On the SpongeBob SquarePants show, there’s Flatts the Flounder who really just wants to be a friend—but he always says that he wants to “kick SpongeBob’s butt” and scares SpongeBob into thinking that Flatts wants to hurt him. It takes some time but each one comes to a better understanding of the other.
