David is a graduate of Opeongo High School, and worked for 17 years at Scapa Tape in Renfrew.  During the 17 years he began taking undergraduate courses via Distance education from Laurentian University.  In 2014, he began full time studies at Knox College in Toronto – A seminary of the Presbyterian Church in Canada.  In May of 2018, David graduated with a Master of Divinity (MDiv) as a first degree and a General Assembly Certificate.  During David’s academic training at Knox College, David served as the student minister at Bristol Memorial Presbyterian Church, Bristol, Que., and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Fort Coulonge, Que.

Organist/Choir Director: Marie Brydges

Working with our Minister, and Leading our Chancel Choir and Congregation in praise is Marie Brydges.  Marie is well known in our community not only for her musical capabilities, but also her dedication and passion in sharing the Word of God through her gift of music.  Marie’s faith and sharing of the gift God has given her allows for all who gather for worship at Renfrew Presbyterian, to have God’s Word impact their faith journey through her Ministry of Music.  From careful study of the words the anthems our Chancel Choir present to musical pieces that allow the congregation to reflect on the Word, Marie helps to bring forward the emotion and message the scriptures are speaking to us today.

Among Marie’s many accomplishments, she holds accreditation for ARCT (Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto), CRCCO (Colleague of The Royal Canadian College of Organists), RMT (Registered Music Teacher), and LLWL (Lay Licensed Worship Leader of the United Church of Canada).
