Organizations

Outside of attending the weekly worship services, there are many opportunities for involvement in St. Andrew’s, Beechwood. Our various groups and committees offer a way to deepen your faith in a supportive community.

Session – The Session leads the church in ministering to the spiritual needs of our congregation. It consists of Clerk of Session Brian Luscombe, and Elders , Dawn Butler, Deb Carey, Gayle Frisa,  Peter de Jong,  and Amber Frisa . Board of Managers – The Board of Managers manages the financial and operational needs of our congregation.

Choir – St. Andrew’s, Beechwood provides an opportunity to worship God through music. Our choir helps lead the congregation in worship with their meaningful anthems which glorify God.

Sunday School – We offer a lively Sunday School during the worship service for ages 3 to 18. Nursery care is available during worship for small children and toddlers.

Youth Group – The Youth Group meets monthly for social activities such as pizza suppers, retreats, horseback riding, planning worship services, paint balling etc. Anyone Grade 7 and up is encouraged to join them for their many wonderful events.

Tweens – Our energetic children from Grade 1- Grade 6 meet at various times throughout the year to do group activities such as skating/winter games, craft nights, cosmic mini golf, provide a Talent Show, etc.

Missions – Our church is interested in helping locally, overseas, as well as within our own church community. We contribute to a variety of missions throughout the year including: Sleeping Children Around the World, Operation Christmas Child, Leprosy Mission, Food Bank donations, Cuddle Quilts for charity, Women’s Rural Resource Centre, Sundae Sundays which support at our own church and its unique needs, etc.

Church Buddies – Our children connect to the seniors of our church with the Church Buddy program. The young are invited to share with their older buddy through artwork, birthday and thinking of you cards, and gathering together as a group twice through the year. It is a wonderful way to connect the generations within our church.

Quilting – In ecumenical Christian fellowship the ladies who meet twice a month lovingly stitch friendship into each new quilt.
