Worship

“Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:2

The worship service at St. Andrew’s follows the standard Presbyterian liturgy, which has a comfortable balance between prayers, readings, and music. If anything, we at St. Andrew’s put a heavier emphasis on the music which certainly adds to the joy and uplifting feeling of the services. We like to use a variety of music that we hope suits a variety of tastes, and we also like to take advantage of not only the musical talents from within the congregation, but also those from without. Special services like the monthly Youth service also provide variety and bring a change of perspective to weekly worship. The worship area(sanctuary) is a comfortable size that has a warm and welcoming atmosphere where one can “jump” right in and get quickly absorbed by it, or find a a comfortable place to slowly warm up and gradually get used to it.

Church School

“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

Church school classes run at the same time as the worship services. Typically, the children come into the worship area with their parents, and are invited to follow our friendly shepherd out of the sanctuary after the children’s story near the beginning of the worship service.

Primary Class (age 4 to grade 3) meets in Burn’s Hall (lower level).

Junior Class (grade 4 and up) meets in the lounge behind the sanctuary.

Nursery

Nursery (ages 0-3 years).

The nursery opens 10-15 minutes before the service, and remains open throughout the service up until 10-15 minutes after the service is over. Parents are welcome to bring your child directly to the nursery at any time while it’s open, to meet the caregivers and settle your child into our child-friendly space. The nursery is most easily accessed by the church side door next to the parking lot, and is to the left at the bottom of the stairs.
