The congregation of Presbyterians in Strathroy was formed in May of 1863 in response to a large number of Scots farmers who had settled in the area. The church building that was erected in 1867 was pulled down in 1874 to make way for the current, much larger, structure, which was modified further at the turn of the 20th century with the addition of the balcony and improvements to the Lower Hall. The rear portion of the building was constructed in 1964, and underwent a substantial renovation in 2004.
Through all of these changes, as well as periods of feast and famine in the Strathroy area, the congregation has striven to keep their focus on people and on God. We seek to serve each other and are at our best when we are doing so, wherever and whenever the opportunities arise in our lives.
We are pleased to welcome the Reverend Robert Wilson to lead our congregation. He begins his ministry here on December 1, 2015.
