The Session: Is made up a Teaching Elder (also known as the pastor or minister), and Ruling Elders (members of the community of faith who have displayed God’s grace and love and who people have seen the character of Jesus in their lives, called by God and confirmed by the community of faith through an election), currently we have 10 Elders sitting on the Session. This group is responsible for the Spiritual Care, Growth, and Leading of the Congregation, providing leadership in guiding the different Groups of the church and use of the building. Each Elder has various gifts that they bring to the leadership of this community of faith. The Session as a whole needs approve people joining the church, baptisms, weddings, and other special events with in the church building but also that has bearing on the life, ministry and worship of the community of faith.

The Board of Managers
THIS GROUP IS KNOWN AS “THE BOARD OF MANAGERS”. IT IS ALSO KNOWN AS “THE MANAGING BOARD” AND “THE BOARD OF MANAGEMENT”
THE PURPOSE OF THIS GROUP IS TO MANAGE THE FINANCIAL AFFAIRS OF THE CONGREGATION INCLUDING MAINTENANCE OF THE CHURCH BUILDING. IT IS THE “BOARDS” RESPONSIBILITY TO DECIDE WHAT NEEDS REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AND TO TRY TO PRIORITIZE THE REPAIRS TO THE BUILDING.
OVER THE YEARS AT ST. ANDREWS, SUCH WORK HAS INCLUDED A MAJOR ADDITION WHICH MOVED THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO THE PARKING LOT SIDE OF THE BUILDING. THIS INCLUDED THE INSTALLATION OF AN ELEVATOR TO ACCOMMODATE THE PEOPLE WITH DIFFICULTY GOING UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS, AND SUCH EVENTS AS FUNERALS. THIS HAS MADE OUR CHURCH MORE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST IN SUCH OCCASIONS. THE BOARD HAS HAD OTHER MAJOR DECISIONS TO MAKE SUCH AS THE REPAIRS TO WINDOWS, PARKING LOT PAVING AND REPAIRS TO STONE WORK.
EACH YEAR, AT THE CHURCH’S ANNUAL MEETING, NEW PEOPLE ARE ASKED TO STAND FOR ELECTION TO THE BOARD. MEMBERS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO HAVE ANY PARTICULAR SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE, JUST A WILLING HEART TO SERVE FELLOW MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION. WE DO NOT PUT PRESSURE ON ANYONE TO DO CERTAIN JOBS. MUCH IS VOLUNTARILY DONE
THE BOARD OF MANAGERS MEETS THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH. WE DISCUSS THE BUSINESS OF THE PREVIOUS MONTH AND THE HEADWAY MADE ON THOSE DISCUSSIONS. NEW BUSINESS IS ALSO DISCUSSED, SOME WITH DECISIONS MADE AND OR SOMEONE ASKED TO LOOK INTO MORE INFORMATION ON A PARTICULAR ITEM OF BUSINESS. MEETINGS ARE USUALLY AN HOUR IN LENGTH.
