Rev. Soong Huh’s Message

Philippians 2.1-13 – divine paradox

This worship is from Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023.

Scripture reading: Philippians 2:1-13
Title: Divine Paradox

Jesus humbled himself. Even though he lowered himself and obeyed to the point of death, God lifted him up to the highest place. God made Jesus the most glorious name of all.

Paradox… Contradictory.

If I lower myself, then what will happen?
In a safe community, others will support me and encourage me and cherish me. That is the ideal picture of church.

Even though today’s church is not too amazing, it’s still church of Jesus. Jesus is the King and the Head of church.
Church… very interesting community.

But, the ideal picture of church is supportive and encouraging and loving. It happens when we humble ourselves just like Jesus humbled himself.

Let us follow the teachings of Jesus and let us build up church as a safe haven, the place we can rest, the place we feel safe, the place we gain energy to face our daily challenges.

May God’s peace and encouragement be with you all.
