Announcements 26-Nov-2017

A warm welcome to all who come to worship this Sunday. Please join us after worship for refreshments and conversation.

This Sunday, we welcome the Rev. Don Muir who will be leading worship. Don graduated from Knox College in 1980 and began a ministry that would lead him to the pastoral charges of Burks Falls, Sundridge and Magnetawan (1980-1983), New Liskeard (1983-1994) and Stouffville (1994-2003). In 2003, Don was appointed Deputy Clerk of the General Assembly. In that office, he primarily helps individuals, congregations and the courts of the church understand and apply principles of church governance. Don resides in Toronto with his wife, Irene, and is the doting father of three daughters. In his spare time he loves to read historical fiction and take walks or bicycle trips along the cities many trails.

Next Sunday, please join us as the church will receive Don Hutchinson, Christine Tian, and Kevin Johnston as members.

Last Sunday, nominations for new elders were distributed. Please pray for wisdom and vote as the church seeks new spiritual leaders to inspire and lead the church as it prepares itself for a new future. Nominations close on Sunday December 10th. Please note that Ana Osborne was mistakenly left off the list of members who are eligible to be nominated as elders. A revised list of members will be distributed today including Ana’s name. Our apologies to Ana for this omission and to the congregation for this inconvenience.

The aurora community café – coffee with a conscience, continued last Wednesday. Each week, different local churches take turns to provide volunteers to serve as hosts for the café. Hosts welcome guests and get to interact with the partners of the café. Welcoming Arms provided hosts last week and Our Lady of Grace will host this Wednesday. This café will operate every Wednesday from 10am – 2pm, offering employment and job-training to adults with disabilities while seeking to break down barriers that keep people isolated or separate and bring people together. Please note that a meeting will be held this Wednesday at 2pm for all café volunteers.

Welcoming Arms is in need of donations.
