As one of the Sponsors of this year’s Worship in the Park, the Aurora Prayer Breakfast Committee would like to let you know about this special event in the Aurora Town Park, starting at 7pm on Wednesday, June 27th. Christian Music will be presented by three or four of our churches worship teams. There is NO CHARGE for admission to this special yearly event, with a free-will offering taken at the close of the evening. It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of our local talented musicians while we also worship the Lord our God. It is suggested that you bring your own lawn chair, although there are some benches available. It promises to be a great evening for people in Aurora and area to come together to listed to some good music and join in singing together!
Mission Moment – World Refugee Day (June 20)
Refugees are part of our human family and are entitled to their rights to peace and protection. In Bangladesh, almost 900,000 Rohingya have settled in squalid shelter conditions after escaping terrifying human rights abuses and violence in Myanmar. Refugees continue to arrive, and the nearing monsoon season puts those living in camps at risk of floods and landslides. Join Presbyterian World Services & Development as we respond to the needs of the Rohingya with Canadian Foodgrains Bank and the ACT Alliance by helping deliver life-saving food packages as well as shelter, hygiene kits, water and sanitation services, and psychosocial assistance. As we respond to pain and despair in Bangladesh. let us pray for refugees on their journey to find safety and peace in other parts of the world.
We now have permission to move forward with a search for a permanent, half-time minister. Praise be to God! Session is looking for a group of 6 to 7 people, representing a range of gender and age groups from our congregation. Do you feel called to be part of the Search committee? If so, please contact an Elder by June 24th.
