We welcome Elder David Lee who will be leading worship this morning. David is a ruling elder of Markham Chinese Presbyterian Church. He is a graduate of the Ontario Theological Seminary, now know as Tyndale University College and Seminary. For the past 25 years, he has been preaching and teaching Sunday School and Baptismal classes. I am a retired professional accountant. I am a proud grandfather of two lovely grandchildren.

Join us  next Sunday, October 7th when we celebrate  Communion.

Donations for the Aurora Food Pantry are gratefully received. Next Sunday, October 7th the food boxes will be at the front of Chancel for our gifts.

Treasures and Treats Bazaar: November 3rd, 9am-1pm
Time to mark your calendar and think about how you can help make this event a success. We will be offering baked goods, craft items and an assortment of treasures (small enough to fit on a table for display) along with tea/ coffee and muffins. We will need help for set up and take down. For more information please ask Carol Runstedler.

Martha’s Table is up and running. Thanks to all who make this possible. Donations of baking would be appreciated.

The Aurora Prayer Breakfast is on October 11.  We’re a bit late talking about it, but the church has reserved a table(10 seats) for our use.  If you want to go, I need to know by next Sunday, Oct 7, or we will be sharing the table with others.
We ask for a donation of $25/person attending to offset the cost to the church.  Simply place  your money in an envelope marked “Aurora Prayer Breakfast” and put it in the collection plate or mail it to me at the Church.  I heartily urge you to join me at the Prayer Breakfast.
The theme is Human  Trafficking.  The keynote speaker is Joy Smith, founder of the Joy Smith Foundation to combat Human Trafficking.  Ms. Smith will be followed with 3 brief(5 minutes each) presentations by representatives of Local, Provincial and Federal agencies combatting this tragedy.  I was quite surprised to learn that a hotspot for entrapping young women is the Davis drive strip mall by Huron Heights High School in Newmarket.  This will be a thought provoking morning needing the prayers that will be offered.

The St. Andrew’s Prayer Chain offers daily prayers for those in need of God’s help. If you would like to request our prayers for yourself or for a loved one, please call Cheryl Daddis, 905-841- 3674 or email [email protected]. Your prayer requests are a sacred trust and will be kept entirely confidential.
