Is Zoomers right for me? The main goal is to improve balance and reduce the risk of falls. There are three categories of fall risk based on literature:

LOW RISK You have not fallen in the past year OR you did fall in the past year but can walk across an intersection during the allowed time on a crosswalk light*.
MODERATE RISK You fell in the past year and cannot walk across an intersection during the allowed time on the crosswalk light.
HIGH RISK You have fallen more than twice within the past year, had an injury related to a fall, were unable to get up from a fall, lost consciousness due to a fall, or consider yourself to be frail.

Most exercises proposed with Zoomers in Balance program are designed for those at LOW to MODERATE risk of falling.

If you consider yourself to be at MODERATE to HIGH risk of falling, it is recommended that you consult with your healthcare provider before participating.
