About

St. Matthew’s is the oldest church in our historic town of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, which has a population of approximately 15,000 people. Located at 15 Church Road, it is the only original church building remaining in the town. It was built in 1910, with the first service held Sept. 25. Now a designated municipal heritage site, St. Matthew’s has been in continuous active use for worship and Christian fellowship for more than 100 years. We are served by an interim moderator, the Rev. David Sturtevant, who is minister of St. David’s Presbyterian Church in St. John’s. Rev. Sturtevant drives a return trip of 860 km for our monthly services. In his absence, he arranges for another minister to tend to our flock.
