Music

We, like most Presbyterian churches sing from the “new” hymnal, which was published in 1997.  The hymnal contains a variety of melodies and genres, traditional and contemporary.

Most of our hymns are played by organ; however, some Nolan plays by piano depending on the melody. Each Sunday Nolan plays thoughtful melodies at the beginning and conclusion of worship.  Each piece chosen, like the hymn selections, complement the worship themes or seasons.  From time to time we have musical guests playing other instruments alongside the organ, and occasionally we have special organ concerts too.

Our organ is a Casavant Brothers organ.  Tradition has it that there was a mix up in delivery and we ended up with the wrong model; however, it has been music to our ears ever since! If you are a musician or music lover, here are are some interesting facts about the church organ: St-Pauls-Casavant-Organ.pdf
