Toronto Formosan Presbyterian Church (TFPC) is a congregation seeking to serve the community in the Greater Toronto Area. Rooted in the heritage of our Taiwanese immigrant origins and our faith in Christ, we are a diverse and dynamic community of believers as a multigenerational, trilingual congregation. Embracing Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English, we welcome everyone and celebrate our evolving multiethnic and multicultural identity. As a future-oriented church, we strive for unity, growth, and the flourishing of all cultures and generations.
TFPC is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Canada (PCC) within the bounds of the Presbytery of East Toronto (PoET). The Presbyterian church is part of the Reformed tradition, tracing its roots to the theology of John Calvin of the Reformation. In the Presbyterian church, we elect and ordain elders to lead the church. The representative system of governance in the various courts of the church is a key principle of the Presbyterian tradition.
The symbol of the “Burning Bush” is associated with Presbyterian churches worldwide. It is drawn from the Old Testament, where Moses came into the presence of God through a burning bush in the wilderness that was not consumed by the fire (Exodus 3:2). This symbol was first adopted by the Huguenots in France, which, despite facing persecution by the French king, held steadfast in their faith—like the bush that, though in flames, was never consumed. It represents our belief that no matter the trials we face, God is always with us, providing help and strength through every storm.

「焚而不毀」是全球長老教會的象徵，源自於舊約聖經中摩西在曠野所見的奇景：荊棘在火中燃燒卻不被焚毀（出埃及記3:2）。這一概念最早出現在法國的改革宗教會。當時，法國的改革宗教會面臨國王的迫害，卻依然堅守信仰，猶如在烈火中經歷考驗卻因信仰而不被燒毀。這也象徵著我們的信仰無論經歷多少風雨，上帝始終如一地賜予我們幫助。
