Here’s “The Scoop” for this week.
Pentecost Sunday June 8th
Rev. Cheryl has asked that I remind everyone that June 8th is Pentecost Sunday and the color for Pentecost is red.
So dig out a red outfit to wear for that Sunday so the congregation will be a sea of red.
Glasgow Road AMS Meeting
Glasgow Road AMS plan to meet on Wednesday, June 11th at 1:30 pm in Glasgow Road Church hall.
All are welcome.
Attention Readers
Got your summer reading picked out?
If not, here’s your chance to pick up a few books at a reasonable price while supporting a good cause!
On Saturday, June 7th, 9 am – 2 pm at the Star of the Sea Seniors Club in North Rustico (across from Stella Maris Church) there will be a book sale with all proceeds going to the Central Queens Funeral Home Building Fund.
A friend of a board member has generously donated her book collection to be sold ($5.00 per book) with all proceeds going to the building fund. I’m told there are lots of books of all types so finding something that interests you shouldn’t be a problem. All are Welcome!!
AMS Annual meeting
The Atlantic Mission Society Annual meeting will be held in Summerside Presbyterian Church at 1:30 pm on Friday, June 6th. Registration is $5.
The guest speaker will be Sheila Smith, Director of Camp Keir. Come and hear about the joys, challenges and plans for Christian Camping at Camp Keir.
Donations for Camp Keir will be accepted. All are Welcome
Camp Keir’s Annual Cleanup Day
Camp Keir’s Annual Cleanup Day is Saturday, June 7th starting at 9am. We will be cleaning both inside and out at the same time. Plus we are still cleaning up the woods where trees have been damaged due to Fiona, so if you have a chainsaw you are able to bring and use that would be helpful.
Many hands make light work.
May Paper Challenge
I think you could still donate on Sunday!!
We continue to record worship services and post them on the Brookfield Pastoral Charge YouTube channel. A link is sent via the Scoop, when it is up for viewing, with a printed copy of the sermon attached. Paper copies can be made available for those who don’t get The Scoop.
Favourite Hymn Selections (don’t be shy)
There has been some response to this so don’t get left out! Pick a hymn that speaks to your heart, or is a favourite, then pass along your selection to Rev Cheryl by writing down the title and which congregation, then leave it in the offering plate. When it best fits with the scriptures it will be sung that Sunday in that church.
Camp Keir
It’s not too late to register for some summer fun at Camp Keir!!
All summer camp dates, ages and themes are available on the website.
