Our most eastern church building is in a place called West Branch (click here for a map). No wonder people have a fun time finding us.
Zion Church has a rich rural heritage going back generations of settlers who first gathered in homes and a local multi-purpose hall [one of which is still standing].
Descendants of these first members are still part of the congregation and community, and we are glad to welcome home many people who return to our picturesque countryside for reunions or just a timely visit.
Zion has a long history. The present building is the third one on the site and the construction of it began in 1874.
The building will seat approximately 120 in the main sanctuary with additional space for 30 or so in the meeting room which was added a few years ago.
Music has always been an important part of our congregation . We host a Sing-Song Ice Cream Social event every summer.
The Happy Stitcher’s group meets almost always weekly (Tuesdays), as well as an AMS mission group who meet on the second Thursday of each month. The Zion AMS is the longest active mission group in the Miramichi Presbyterial.
The annual congregational Christmas supper is held in early December and the members gather on early July for a time of fellowship and church & cemetery cleaning.
Well, you have met us, now we look forward to meeting you.
