October Update
Welcome to October! It is hard to believe we are into the first full month of fall.
We hope that your summer was blessed with family, friend and community events. In your busy lives we hope that you had time to enjoy the summer! The local fall fairs have come and gone.
September saw our church, Duff Largie, celebrate its 169th Anniversary. We had a beautiful service with several children in attendance. Special music – Solo -Paul McWilliam “How Great Thou Art” and the congregation sang a song together which had been written by past Organist – Helen Duncanson – “There’s A Church.” The service concluded with the playing of the pipes by Evan Ross. Familiar hymns were sung and we welcomed Rev. Lynn Nichol as our guest Minister. We also celebrated Holy Communion. Following the service a lunch was served by the Ladies Group and everyone enjoyed a social time.
As we look forward to Thanksgiving we continue to Give Thanks to God’s for all of His Blessings. We ask that farmers will be blessed with a bountiful harvest. We also think about and pray for those affected by weather disasters, wars, and unrest. We especially think of those in our communities who have the uncertainty of shelter, food and employment. May we continue to help them as we can.
May you and all those you love have a wonderful, and Blessed Thanksgiving! Celebrate and Give Thanks!
