Music

Since the beginning of the Presbyterian Faith, music has been a very important part of Presbyterian Worship. The first Presbyterian congregations sang psalms without the use of instruments to Praise God. Since then, music in the Presbyterian churches has gone under a lot of changes, including the addition of organs, choirs, hymns and anthems. Presbyterians have a very strong tradition of congregational singing.

Knox Goderich has the Chancel Choir, which is an important part of worship, as they give leadership to the congregation in the singing of hymns and anthems. The choir at Knox provide a special way for everyone to worship together. We know it is important to include music in our worship as God gives everyone a Song to sing — the sound that our soul makes. As the beauty and harmony that God places in us is sometimes lost in the shuffle of daily life, it is important that the congregation can sing together to let our Song be heard.
