We are a multicultural Christian community that proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We hold God’s word as the rule of faith and life. The Bible is the standard of all doctrine by which we must test any word that comes to us from church, world, or inner experience.

A NEW MESSAGE

We are glad you are visiting us today!

We are pleased to welcome all worshippers on-site (in-person) and continue to provide live streaming via YouTube. (Please go to Ile Perrot Presbyterian Church to connect and watch previous sermons).

With COVID-19 health and its subvariant, Omicron, no longer as threatening as before, we at PCIP still adopt a more cautious approach. Therefore, we recommend that worshipers disinfect their hands and wear a mask. We provide both masks and sanitizers at the entrance to the sanctuary. In addition, we require worshipers to sit in their family units.

We look forward to having you with us and hope your time at PCIP is a blessing, memorable, peaceful, and stress-free. Welcome home in the presence of the Lord.

AUGUST 7 – SEPTEMBER 11 SERMON SERIES: “Some Great Chapters of the Bible.”

Our current sermon series: “Some Great Chapters of the Bible” does not imply that there are some not-so-great chapters in the Scripture. Instead, every page of Scripture we turn to is great and calls us to give close attention to it.

So, every Sunday in the period of the series, we shall plan our worship service around one great chapter of the Bible with the goal to focus our worship on a theme about God and reflect on it. Also, a significant element of the series includes the worshipers’ response to the questions: What do we do in response to God? How should we respond to God? At the center of this series is the desire to allow a chapter of God’s Word to open our hearts toward God and direct our worship of God.

You are welcome to join us in person (see our address). Alternatively, if you wish to join us online, please go to YouTube and type (PCIP live streaming) or via Zoom to join us live. If you wish to speak with someone about us (who we are), the Christian faith, and the Bible, please don’t hesitate to contact us ([email protected]).

JULY SERMON SERIES: Ordinary People Meet Extraordinary GOD.
See the source imageOur July sermon series explores the lives of some ordinary people who encountered our extraordinary God. As a result, the people expressed a tremendously heroic faith in the  God they encountered. So, their lives and worldview were changed. In the series, we shall journey through the stories of John & Peter (Acts 4), Leah (Genesis 29), Zipporah (Exodus 2), Zelophehad’s daughters (Numbers 27), and the widow at Zarephath (I Kings 17).

In our journey into the series, we saw that sometimes our extraordinary God initiates divine-human encounters to take place while other times, it is the ordinary people who begin the step to encounter the great God. In addition, there are times that God meets with someone with the goal to meet another person.

Therefore, it is hoped that the series reminded God’s people that God has help where we least expect it. He will provide for us in ways that go beyond our narrow definitions of expectations. No matter how bitter our trials or seemingly hopeless our situation, we should look for God’s caring touch. So, there is still hope in strange places!

JANUARY SERMON SERIES: Life’s Journey.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE: December 25 @ 7 PM.

Christmas Eve service on December 25, 2021, holds both in-person and online at 7 PM. The service will focus on the challenges experienced by Mary & Joseph as they journeyed toward the first Advent more than 2000 years ago.

You are welcome to join us in person (see our address). Alternatively, if you wish to join us online, please go to YouTube and type (PCIP live streaming) or via Zoom to join us live.

DECEMBER SERMON SERIES: Loneliness, Uncertainty & Hope at Advent.

When people celebrate their birthdays, they mostly don’t remember the birth pain experienced by mothers and their parents’ sleepless nights. Hence, during our birthdays, we don’t remember to celebrate those who brought us into this world, protected, provided, and cared for us during our fragile years. Instead, we want gifts from them. We feel and think we deserve it since it is our day! Our birthday! So, we focus on ourselves. Sadly, we import the same ideology in the Christmas season. People tend to celebrate without the celebrants. People almost always celebrate and forget all who made Christmas possible behind the scenes.

Our December sermon series focuses on some behind-the-scenes events that shape the season of Advent. Among other meanings, the word Advent means ‘appearance, arrival, emergence, or even birth.’ Hence, the word is used in the context of the birth, coming, appearance, or even the emergence of Jesus Christ into the world as a baby. The background stories that led to the Advent include Zachariah & Elizabeth and Mary & Joseph. A close look at their backstage stories shows the presence of loneliness, pain, uncertainty, and hope in the couples’ journey to the first (celebration of) advent over 2,000 years ago.

Therefore, this series will challenge us to look at and see the bigger story of Advent. The series will take us backstage for some behind-the-scenes realities where Mary was afraid and confused; Joseph had to face a complex situation. Zechariah and Elizabeth endured ridicule due to their childlessness and their future uncertainties. I hope that when you celebrate or think about Christmas, it won’t be all rosy and glamorous. Instead, you would think about loneliness, disappointment, pain, fear, uncertainty, honour, and shame, but also the hope that Advent brings.

AUGUST-OCTOBER SERMON SERIES: Faith & Works in James.
Our sermon series from August to October will shift from the Psalms of Lament to the Book of James, which was written by James, the brother of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 13:55; Galatians 1:19). Writing his to believers in the diaspora, James makes authentic faith the heart of his letter. For example, James says, true faith in Christ expresses itself in love for God’s commands. The way James speaks about authentic faith seems to echo Jesus Christ when He said: “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” (Luke 6:46). James understands Jesus’ teaching, and he directly reflects it in his letter to believers living far away from their homes (including us since we are not yet home).

In this series, which is titled Faith and Works in James, we will explore the life of faith (1:1-27), the ingredients of faith (2:1-5:6), and the perseverance of faith (5:7-20). May these series challenge your faith into expressing itself in fairness, works, words, wisdom, discernment, proper perspective of wealth, patience, prayer, and selflessness.

You are welcome to join us in person (see our address). Alternatively, if you wish to join us online, please go to YouTube and type (PCIP live streaming) or via Zoom to join us live. So, would you please let us know if you need guidance in joining our worship ([email protected])? AUGUST-SEPTEMBER BOOK STUDY: Uncomfortable Comfortable with a Black Man  Emmanuel Acho.

From August to September 2021, we will study the book: “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man” by Emmanuel Acho. It is an excellent book on race relations. Even though Emmanuel Acho writes within the American context, our study will acknowledge his context as a vehicle to guide us into race relations in our Canadian context. In addition, in our discussion, we will watch some videos and give attention to Canadian statistics on race relations.

Although Scripture says: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28),” yet we live in communities where some people continue to champion the divide between people based on race. It is hoped that this study will help create proximity while dealing with issues that create distance in our communities and workspaces. Emmanuel Acho says it better when he said, “proximity breeds care, and distance breeds fear.”

You are welcome to join online via Zoom every Wednesday at 7 PM. Please let us know if you are interested in joining us by emailing [email protected], and we will send you the Zoom link. Also, if you wish to speak with someone about us (who we are), the Christian faith, and the Bible, please don’t hesitate to contact us ([email protected]).

JULY SERMON SERIES: The Psalms of Lament.

MARCH-APRIL (LENT – EASTER) SERMONS: 7 Encounters and 7 Announcements.

In the life of Jesus Christ, as recorded in the Gospels, many people encountered the Messiah, but each meeting turns out to be a unique experience for them. Even those who did not respond positively, like the rich young ruler (Luke 18:18–30), left not the same. For those who met Jesus and responded obediently, they have announcements for us: Challenging messages. From March to Easter Sunday, in April, we shall consider a series: titled: 7 Encounters and 7 Announcements in the Gospel of Luke. The goal of this series is to step back from our usual aerial view reading-style of the narratives. Instead, the sermons will challenge us to journey with those who had encountered Jesus Christ and listen to their messages for us today, even as we slowly walk-through the valleys of Lent and burst out on the mountain top of Easter Sunday.
