Ministry Teams

You are welcome to the Presbyterian Church of Ile-Perrot (PCIP). We invite you to come and grow with us. We believe that “The church is Christ together with his people called both to worship and to serve him in all of life” (L.F. 7.1.1). Thus, “The church lives to praise God. We have no higher calling than to offer the worship that belongs to God day by day, Sunday by Sunday” (L.F. 7.3.1). Also, we live “to permeate all of life with the compassion of God as beggars telling others where food is to be found; we point to life in Christ” (L.F. 9.1.3, 9.2.1).

To guide and prosper us in our calling are our mission and vision statements, and our action plan.

MISSION: To Equip Christ’s Community through God’s Wisdom for Works of Service in God’s World.

VISION: To Become a Contagious and Witnessing Christian Community, by

Holding and living according to the sound teaching of God’s Word (Acts 2:42 cf. 17:10-12; 2 Tim. 1:13; 4:1-5).

Enjoying fellowship with all people in our faith community through eating and breaking bread together (Acts 2:42, 46 cf. Hebrews 10:24-25).

Being a praying community (Acts 2:42 cf. 2 Chronicles 7:14; Ephesians 6:18).

Believing and expecting God’s miracles since with God, all things are possible (Acts 2:43 cf. Matthew 19:26; Jeremiah 32:27).

Becoming of one heart and mind as the different units of our community work together as one (Acts 2:44 cf. Ephesians 4:3-6, 11-16).

Impacting all individual families represented in our faith community (Acts 2:46 cf. Matthew 8:14-15; 12:46-50).

Transforming the outside communities and the world for Christ. (Acts 2:47a cf. Gen. 39:4,21; Ex. 3:21).

Growing spiritually and numerically (Acts 2:47b cf. 2:41; 5:14; 6:7; Genesis 26:12).

We set up our ministry into the following three ministry teams: in-reach, outreach, and up-reach. We trust that this set up will activate more people into Christ’s service. Every team spends the first half of its gathering as a small group community with Bible Study, spiritual nurturing, and friendship building. The second half of each meeting is directed towards the team’s specific area of ministry. Check out our three teams. Which one might be “a fit” for you? Contact the minister— Come, learn, and serve with us!

In-Reach: We are responsible for working with our minister to grow the quality and the sense of community at PCIP. The way we do so include:

1. Education & Discipleship: Our goal is to inspire an energetic atmosphere of learning that keeps Christian Faith growing & dynamic in people of all ages in our congregation. The main focus is to learn what it means to be disciples/followers of Jesus Christ. We do that by offering support to the Sunday School, Nursery, VBS, and small group studies.

2. Fellowship: We aim to provide spiritual care through natural food and to handle the decoration of our sanctuary for the different seasons of the life of our community.

3. Pastoral Care: Our mandate is the congregational ministry of loving and caring for members during times of need and celebrations. Transportation is provided to those needing transportation to worship, the hospital & other appointments.

Outreach: Our team is interested in reaching out beyond the walls of our church building through personal and social interaction and evangelism. Members are willing to meet with people in their communities. We run a food bank that caters for some families in the Ile-Perrot, Pincourt, and surrounding communities. Also, we are currently working, praying, and trusting the Lord to lead us and to key into God’s projects in the communities around us. We believe that God is always working to better both the spiritual and physical conditions of people whom God so loved that He sent His only Son.

Up-reach: Worship is the center of our shared life of faith in Jesus Christ. It is the life-blood of the Christian-life as we meet God in spirit through Word & Sacrament each Sunday morning and then go out into the world to practice that worship in everyday life. This team works in partnership with our minister to enrich the worship life of PCIP. Team Leader: The Rev. Elkanah Shekari.
