Kids and Youth Page Tips

When it comes to church, parents aren’t always looking for themselves first, often, they are looking to engage their children. Here are 6 things you can include on your children’s ministry pages.

List all your regular programs and services, special events and any curriculum. Includes times, locations, and ages. Write a few descriptive sentences about each program and include pictures and videos where possible.

Finally, make sure to include a way for parents (both new and returning) to get in touch with your children’s ministry director. If parents have questions, concerns, comments, or just want to chat about specific needs for their children, it’s so important to make it easy for them to get in touch with a representative of your ministry.

We are a child-friendly church

MacNab loves kids!  We may be an “old” church – our building is, after all, older than Canada, but we are young at heart!

We offer a dynamic and engaging Sunday School program for children from preschool to grade 5 every Sunday morning during our 10:30 service.  Kids will learn about Jesus and the Bible through a variety of activities such as songs, games, stories and crafts.  Our Sunday School leaders are a dedicated group of volunteers with lots of experience working with kids of all ages!

Infants and toddlers are welcome to stay with their parents during the service. We understand that babies coo and cry—it’s music to our ears.  You don’t have to worry if your baby fusses, however, if you prefer, we do have a fully equipped comfort room available for caregivers where the service is streamed for you to view—you won’t miss a thing.

Outside of our church services, we have groups that meet on a monthly basis:

Playgroup is for children up to age 5 and their caregivers. Free play, circle time, crafts and snacks are offered at no cost to all members of the community. The playgroup takes place the 2nd Wednesday morning of each month.

Moms of Teens Meetup is a group just for moms and female caregivers of teens and preteens.  We know that the teen years can be tricky – you aren’t alone.  Women gather for fellowship, support and guest speakers on a variety of issues related to raising teens.  This group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

We also have special events that take place every few weeks such as potluck dinners, BBQs, movie and game nights.

There are lots for you and your family here at MacNab. We’d love to meet you!
