Devotion for Life for June 10th, 2026

Coming together with Jesus

When we come to the communion table, we are not simply remembering an event we find in the Bible; we are responding to an invitation from Jesus to “Come and see,” “take and see,” “Your sins are forgiven.”

The bread reminds us that His body given so that our lives could be made whole. The cup reminds us that His blood was poured out so that forgiveness, grace, and new life could flow freely to us, giving us life from His life.

Communion gathers scattered hearts. We may arrive carrying burdens, regrets, questions, or quiet hopes, but at the Lord’s table we meet the same Saviour. In Him, we are no longer alone and broken. We become one people, held together  by Jesus’ perfection, preference, strength, and mercy. Jesus welcomes us to remember that His love is stronger than our weakness and His grace is greater than our need.

When we take the bread and the cup, let us remember that we come together even in our brokenness, with gratitude, love, and faith. May we lay down our division, fear, and self-reliance, and lift our lives to Christ. He is present with us. He is enough for us. And as we share in this sacred meal, may our hearts be renewed, our love deepened, and our lives strengthened to follow Him together.
