Looking ahead at Kirkwall for 2026. Here are some proposed events!
Our Annual Ladies Tea will be held at Kirkwall on Sunday September 13th at 2 p.m. Come for tea and conversation, complete with linen tablecloths, fancy cups and saucers, scones and cream, and an assortment of sweets, served by the men of the congregation. Our guest speaker will be Edna Voogd from The Gleaners. The Gleaners and its many volunteers produce millions of meals from their dried vegetable mix and other nutritious dried products each year, using donated surplus produce to help feed those in need in developing countries around the world.
The Gleaners is located on Morrison Rd, just minutes down the road from Kirkwall. Please invite your friends and neighbours to join us for a lovely afternoon and a captivating presentation. All ladies are invited, and there is no charge.

Men’s Breakfast September 19th at 8:30 a.m. (Third Saturday of the month Sept to May) Our speaker, Paul Poidevin cut his baby teeth on a farm near Stayner. He married a Valens girl named Eunice Holtzhauer. They have worked in Zambia, Africa for over 50 years as missionaries. All men and boys are welcome. See you then.

Bodies in Motion Classes – Annalise Clarkson will be leading a movement class September 24th and again on October 29th, beginning at 7 p.m. You will learn to connect with your body through gentle movement and breath, focusing on presence, balance, body awareness and posture while building strength, confidence and improving mobility. We encourage you to come, for gentle exercise while sitting on a chair. Free event.
Bible Study Resuming on September 25th, then each Friday morning at Kirkwall Church at 10 a.m., we are hosting a Bible study, with the leadership by Keith Marcy. Everyone is welcome to attend, and previous knowledge of scripture is not required. We will be studying how the New Testament came to be, and an overview of each of the 27 books. We are encouraged to learn together and share questions, at this casual group. Stay tuned for an evening course on the same theme, for those who are not available on Friday morning.
Pot luck and Bingo Saturday Sept 26th
Church membership presentation Sunday September 27th following our coffee time, there will be an hour long presentation geared for those who wish to become members of Kirkwall Church. Keith will present an overview of the Presbyterian form of church government, as well as a study of the Apostle’s Creed. This is open to everyone, whether new to the church or long time members already. Babysitting will be provided for the children.
