As Indigenous Peoples, we celebrate ourselves, our families, communities, lands, and cultures daily.
Knox Presbyterian Church acknowledges with gratitude and respect the Lekwungen peoples on whose traditional territory our congregation engages in ministry and the W̶SÁNEĆ, Songhees and Esquimalt peoples whose relationship with the land continues to this day.
Environment Week … Every year, Canadian Environment Week (June 1-7) coincides with World Environment Day on June 5. This year, the focus is on ending plastic pollution. Join us in reducing plastic pollution and reaching our vision of a zero plastic waste future. Here are some simple, impactful ideas for change:

- Use reusable products like mugs, food containers and shopping bags
- Refuse cutlery, straws and individual packets when ordering food for delivery or take-out if you don’t need it
- Use your purchasing power to buy plastic products that can be reused, recycled, repaired or repurposed
- Support businesses that are reducing their plastic footprint
- Learn about what can be recycled or composted in your municipality, school or work
- Choose plastic products that are recyclable and participate in your local waste programs
- Wash and reuse plastic containers and resealable plastic bags
- Put a lid on your bins to stop litter from being blown away or scattered by animals
- Throw your cigarette butts in the garbage or designated bins
- Organize or join a cleanup in your neighbourhood

Vancouver Island School of Theology and the Arts’ and NewLeaf Network … are holding a Spring Theology Conference based on the book ‘Blessed are the Undone’ by authors Angela Reitsma Bick and Peter Schurrman.
Western Canada Tour: A presentation from Neal DeRoo, a jazz performance by Mark Glanville & social. Then, on Saturday, for a one-day conference on finding hope amid church conflict. Workshops, lectures and round-table discussions will pull from and build on data and stories from ‘Blessed are the Undone’. The keynote will end with suggestions for “reconstruction-friendly” postures in an era of deconstruction. On June 6 – 7, 2025 at United Commons.

Quartet Fest West Concert … presented by St. Andrew’s Music Outreach Program at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Sanctuary on Saturday, June 28 at 1:00pm. Located on the beautiful campus of the University of Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, Quartet Fest West is one of the finest chamber music programs in North America. Victoria Pride Parade with Inclusive Christians … is on Sunday, July 6, 2025! Consider joining Laura and students from UVic Multifaith in this joyful celebration. Contact Laura for details. The parade will go right past the front doors of St. Andrew’s. St. Andrew’s will be providing a water station for participants. Come and say hello! Worship in the Park … Everyone is welcome to join members of Knox, Trinity, and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church for an afternoon of worship, fun, food, and friends! This year it will be held on Sunday, July 20th. Worship will begin at 10:30 am at Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavillion. The building is located in Esquimalt Gorge Park (1070 Tillicum Road)and can be accessed on foot via park pathways, vehicle or bike. Bike racks are available. Please bring your own picnic lunch, items to share, place settings, and chairs!
Singers in the Park … Voices from St. Andrew’s, Knox (Victoria and Sooke), Trinity, and Chinese Presbyterian Churches are invited to take part in a combined choral performance at “Worship in the Park” on July 20th! We will be performing ‘How Great Thou Art’. Rehearsals will take place on Sunday, July 6 and 13th at 11:30 am at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Sunday, June 8, 2025 – Mission Moment
Through gifts to Presbyterians Sharing, we participate in the PCC’s mission and ministry locally, nationally and internationally. Together we help congregations navigate and thrive through challenging times, equip leaders to serve and lead the church in Canada and around the world, and work with international partners to share the good news of Christ. We address causes and consequences of poverty, racism and discrimination and advocate for and act to protect and restore God’s creation. We provide spaces for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to work together on healing and reconciliation. Our gifts also help share stories and experiences of Presbyterians through the Connection newspaper, website, social media and e-newsletters. And so much more! When we put our gifts into God’s hands, God does remarkable things.

Sunday, June 8 (Pentecost) We give thanks for the Spirit’s presence and inspiration among us and the gifts we receive through the Spirit for the building up of God’s reign.
Monday, June 9 In the 150th year of The Presbyterian Church in Canada, we pray for those who study our past in order to better our future.
Tuesday, June 10 We pray for Moses Silungwe, who is supported by the PCC’s Leadership Development Program in his studies in medicine at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University in Zambia.
Wednesday, June 11 We pray for the Committee on Church Doctrine as it leads a commemoration of The Declaration of Faith Concerning Church and Nation.
Thursday, June 12 We pray for Presbyterian Certified Candidates for Ordained Ministry graduating from Vancouver School of Theology, who have been supported through their studies by St. Andrew’s Hall.
Friday, June 13 We pray for PCC camps across the country and give thanks for their vital ministries, as they sow seeds of faith in the hearts of children and youth.
Saturday, June 14 We thank you for new ministry initiatives that build on the foundation made strong by those who have gone before us.
Join the Jubilee Movement: Jubilee 2025 is a global ecumenical initiative that builds on the transformative success of Jubilee 2000, which canceled $100 billion of debt for 36 low-income countries.
Why Jubilee Matters Today: The Global South and Indigenous communities face a devastating debt crisis, with many nations spending more on debt repayments than on healthcare, education or climate action.
Debt cancellation and systemic financial reform are not just economic solutions; they are a moral imperative rooted in the theological principle of justice for all.
KAIROS’ Jubilee 2025 campaign emphasizes ecological justice, and the urgent need to address ecological debt—the exploitation of resources and lands in the Global South and in Indigenous communities worldwide. Amplifying Indigenous voices, the campaign also calls for land restitution, climate justice, and the transformation of exploitative systems to uphold dignity, equity, and sustainable development for all.
Be Part of the Change: In Canada, KAIROS Canada is leading the campaign in collaboration with Citizens for Public Justice, Development and Peace – Caritas Canada, and the Office of Religious Congregations for Integral Ecology and The Canadian Council of Churches. Together, we are mobilizing communities of faith and conscience to demand:
- Debt cancellation for unjust and unsustainable debts.
- Global financial reform to prevent future crises.
- A debt resolution framework within the United Nations that is transparent, binding and fair.
