At Lochwinnoch Church, we believe faith calls us to care for our neighbours – both close to home and around the world.
Throughout the year our congregation supports local food banks through Advent and Lenten challenges, donations of food, and other creative projects. These efforts have become an important part of our life together and a practical way of sharing God’s love with community.
We also participate in the wider mission of the Presbyterian Church in Canada’s mission through annual support to Presbyterians Sharing and Presbyterian World Service and Development.
A fun Lenten Food Bank Challenge one year was filling the Wire Hen Basket with eggs bought at $20/egg.
Another Lenten Project one year was when Lochwinnoch Church was challenged to collect 100 boxes of cereal for the Local Food Banks. On Palm Sunday, when the grand total was counted, there 167 Boxes of Cereal and $200 in cash.
