Mission: Focusing Outward

Emil Brunner wrote:  The Church exists by mission, just as a fire exists by burning. Where there is no mission, there is no Church; and where there is neither Church nor mission, there is no faith. 

To be the church is to be missional.

Throughout the year, at various times the congregation collects donations for the local Food Banks.

Lenten Food Bank Challenge

Through Advent 2023 the congregation raised $1300 divided between the Arnprior and Renfrew Food Banks, by filling the Wire Hen Basket with eggs bought at $20/egg.

Advent Food Bank Challenge

Through Advent 2023 the congregation raised $1700 divided between the Arnprior and Renfrew Food Banks.

Presentation by Pat Tait, Arnprior and District Food Bank – June 25, 2023

On Sunday, June 25th, the congregation of Lochwinnoch Church welcomed, Pat Tait to the worship service, where she shared about the work of the Arnprior and District Food Bank.

 

Advent Challenge 2022

Throughout the Advent Season, Lochwinnoch Church donated money for the food banks.  Each $20 donation was represented by a decoration on the tree.  $1080 was raised to be divided between the Arnprior and Renfrew Food Banks.

Lenten Challenge 2022: 

Throughout the Lenten Season, Lochwinnoch Church was challenged to collect 100 boxes of cereal for the Local Food Banks.  On Palm Sunday, when the grand total was counted, there 167 Boxes of Cereal and $200 in cash. 

 

Lochwinnoch Food Bank Drive

Pre Advent 2021 – Amaryllis Bulbs were sold in support of Presbyterian World Service and Development.

Throughout the year, young people connected to the congregation,         are remembered with small packages from the Session.

Lunch Boxes were packed and shared twice during 2021, once with Friends from L’Arche Arnprior, and the second time with Friends from Lochwinnoch Church.
