The Path to Renewal

Our goal for 2015 is to make people in Mille Isles aware of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

April 12:  Meeting with Reverend Linda Robinson to  discuss plan for upcoming year.

April 26 Session met to kick off the Renewal project.  To be presented with concrete ideas to the congregation at the AGM on the last Sunday in May.

May 31 Opened discussion on the Renewal project with the congregation at the annual meeting.  It was well received by all.

June 1 Have been invited to attend the Aeternal gospel service in September by the Anglican church in Mille Isles.  Hope to use this invitation as a means to open a dialogue with them in regards to shared mission in the community.

August 09 Met with members of the Anglican church in Mille Isles after their service.  They will include me on any correspondence regarding the Aeternal service.

September 27 We worshipped at the Anglican church today. The gospel group Aeternal performed. Another small step towards closer cooperation with the Anglicans.

November 28 The lay members of the Anglican and Presbyterian churches met today to discuss closer cooperation between the two congregations. It was agreed to meet in the new year along with the leaders of the two churches.

January 21, 2016 The clergy and lay members of the Anglican and Presbyterian churches met this evening to continue the discussion on closer cooperation between the two congregations. It was agreed to hold a potluck for all members of the two churches on March 5th to look at working in unison in the community. As well an invitation to the February 14th service at the Anglican church was extended to all the Presbyterian congregation.

February 14 The members of the Presbyterian church were warmly welcomed this morning by the Anglican church at their monthly service. It  was the first time that the congregation of the Presbyterian church worshipped together as a group during the winter months since the early 80’s.

March 5, 2016 The clergy and lay members of the Anglican and Presbyterian churches held a potluck in the Mille Isles Town Hall to continue the discussion on closer cooperation between the two congregations. A committee was formed to communicate with the town council as a means of increasing the awareness in the community of the presence of the two churches.

April 7: Met with the Mayor and the Director General of Morin Heights. Explored methods of closer cooperation between the Town and the two churches.

April 24: The Presbyterian Church agreed to hold an additional 7 services a year. These will be held on those Sundays when none of the 4 Anglican Churches in the Laurentians are holding a service.
