Church Bells across Canada Call to Close Truth and Reconciliation Commission  

On June 3, the members of the Presbyterian Church Women and their guests, the ladies of the surrounding churches enjoyed a delicious pot luck supper. The guest speaker Marianne Emig Munro, the minister of First Presbyterian Church, Brockville made an informative presentation on a conference she attended through the Global Institute of Theology held in Indonesia in 2012. The freewill offering raised over $300 for PWS & D earthquake relief in Nepal.

At the beginning of Advent, the five churches in Kars and Osgoode presented a Family Carol Sing and Dessert Party at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Osgoode. A musical program included a joint choir, several smaller groups and special guests.

On Dec. 8 Paige and Katelyn MacLellan once again inspired the congregation to donate toys for Toy Mountain.   We were also inspired by special guest Ava Cunningham, a grade four student at Merrickville Wolford Public School who has made and collected over 175 winter hats; these were given out at the Out of the Cold dinner to anyone who needed one. And Pat Grainger shared some pictures from her recent mission trip to Malawi.

On Nov. 30 members of the congregation and friends prepared and served dinner to 98 guests at Knox Presbyterian Church in downtown Ottawa.

Many hands made light work at the annual Tartan Bazaar and Cafe, a much-anticipated community event which raised funds for the church and other worthy causes.

The younger members of the congregation honed their bowling skills on Nov. 17 at the North Gower Bowling Lanes.

On Nov. 3 the congregation honoured the marriage of Emma Kewley (right, below) and Daryl McKinnon at coffee hour with a gift for their chosen charity.
