Pastoral Letter Christmas 2025

December 4, 2025

Beloved St. David’s family,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. As the holy season arrives again, I give thanks for a congregation shaped by God’s faithfulness and sustained by the prayers and love of His people. This year, like every year, Christmas reminds us that our Saviour stepped into our world not in loud spectacle but in divine πρόθεσις (prothesis)—God’s intentional, set-in-place purpose.

The angels’ first message echoed “Do not be afraid; I bring you good news of great joy.” This χαρά (chara)—Spirit-given joy still rings true for us today. The manger was not a sign of poverty, but a sign of accessibility—God’s invitation for all people to draw near to Jesus, our Saviour and King.

So let us walk into Christmas faithful, hopeful, and worship-filled, remembering that part of our readiness for Christ is to return each week joyfully to the Sunday worship service, where God renews our strength and unites us around His grace.

May the Lord bless every home this season—with comfort, healing, provision, reconciliation, and peace. To those who carry burdens, may Christ be your Bread of Life. To those waiting for a breakthrough, may He be your Shepherd of Hope. To those in need of healing, may He be your Restorer.

Let us hold fast to the promise of His coming, confident that the King who entered suddenly at Bethlehem still arrives by grace and purpose.

And we close our hope with His Word:

“Yes, I am coming soon.” — Revelation 22:20

In joyful expectation and faithful love,

I remain yours to serve in Christ our King,

Rev.  Paul Ku
