Ash Wednesday Service – March 5, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, Oshawa
Several Church communities, Knox Presbyterian, St. Paul’s Presbyterian, St. James and St. Luke’s Presbyterian, Northminster United, Westminster United, Faith Lutheran, and one retired Lutheran pastor, joined together for an Ash Wednesday Service on March 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, Oshawa. The pastors of these congregations meet weekly to study the Sunday texts, which has led to events such as weekly Lenten Lunches during Lent (attended by an average of nearly 100 people last year), joint choir concerts, and study opportunities. A spirit of Christian unity has grown between the members of these diverse congregations, a witness to the community of our oneness in Christ.
