Are cell phones allowed?
No.
Camp MacLeod is a cell phone-free environment. We encourage campers to disconnect from technology and fully participate in camp activities, friendships, and outdoor adventures.
If a camper is found with a cell phone, it may be confiscated and parents may be contacted.
What if my child has allergies or medical needs?
Please provide complete medical information during registration.
All medications must be given directly to camp staff at check-in and must be in their original labelled containers.
We do our best to accommodate allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical needs whenever possible.
What if my child becomes sick or injured?
Camp staff are trained to respond to illnesses and injuries.
Parents or guardians will be contacted if medical attention is required or if a camper cannot safely continue participating in camp activities.
What if my child becomes homesick?
Homesickness is common, especially for first-time campers.
Our staff are experienced in helping campers adjust, make friends, and become involved in camp activities. Most campers settle in quickly and go on to have a wonderful camp experience.
How can I contact my child during camp?
Because campers spend most of the day participating in activities, the best times to reach camp by phone are during meal times:
- 8:00 AM (Breakfast)
- 12:00 PM (Lunch)
- 5:00 PM (Supper)
If there is an emergency or concern, camp staff will contact parents immediately.
Are campers supervised?
Yes.
Campers are supervised by trained staff throughout the day. Waterfront activities are supervised according to camp safety procedures, and staff are trained in emergency response and camper care.
What happens if my child breaks camp rules?
Campers are expected to treat others with kindness and respect, follow staff directions, and participate safely.
Unsafe, harmful, or repeatedly disruptive behaviour may result in a camper being sent home early.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes.
A limited number of campships are available to families experiencing financial hardship.
Requests must be accompanied by a recommendation from a minister, priest, church leader, social worker, or other community professional and are subject to available funding.
Please contact [email protected] for more information.
What is your cancellation policy?
If a camper cancels within 72 hours of their scheduled start date or does not attend without notice, an invoice for 50% of the camp fee will be issued.
Refunds are not available for voluntary early departures or dismissals due to behaviour concerns.
Partial refunds may be considered in cases of medical or family emergencies.
Do campers need to be Presbyterian or attend church?
No.
Camp MacLeod welcomes campers from all backgrounds. While Christian faith and values are part of our programming, campers are welcome regardless of church affiliation or religious background.
