Trusting the Ascended Jesus

Many times, in our lives we are invited to trust people that are leading us and are going before us. In the case of the disciples, they are being invited to trust Jesus who is about to leave them. They had witnessed and lived in His faithfulness to provide for them, He had protected them from harm and had given them purpose in life beyond what any of them had ever expected. They knew that they could trust what ever Jesus said. Jesus told them that even though He was leaving them, He was going to send them the Holy Spirit to be with them and guide them through the next stage of their ministry.

The Holy Spirit wasn’t just for the disciples it is for all who believe and trust in Jesus. The gift off faith isn’t just for the disciples it is also for you and me. The more we spend time getting to know Jesus whether through scripture reading and prayer or inviting Him into our lives and learning to trust Him in our daily lives, the more we will see His guidance through the work of the Holy Spirit everyday. It is easier to trust someone you know. Get to know who Jesus is through the lives of the disciples sharing their experiences with us and through the gift of the Holy Spirit given to us. We do this so that we might live in line with the amazing purpose that God is placing in our lives through Jesus and empowered through the Holy Spirit.
