Divided heart
What divides your heart these days? Are we putting things or people where Jesus is supposed to be in our hearts? Are we covering up for a heart that we either don’t know how to deal with or want to deal with right now? Having a divided heart isn’t so much about doing different things but more about the why we are doing them. Jesus will invite us to many things, but our heart can still be focused on Jesus. We are responding to Jesus not to our brokenness or lusting after someone or something.
Having a heart that is fully devoted to Jesus will still love your family and friends, but it will see these people differently and be able to love them without the same fear that we would otherwise. Jesus invites us to love God and to love each other as we love ourselves. An undivided heart is one that is living in grace and not broken by sin. It is loving because it has experienced the pure selfless love of Jesus instead of living in a love that is afraid of losing or a love that has been corrupted and changed to something hurtful. An undivided heart has lives because of the selfless love that continues to bring life and freedom and it allows others to grow.
