Groups and Activities

 

Knox Church has activities throughout the year, especially from September – June. During the summer months of July and August, most take a break to recuperate and regenerate. We invite you to attend any of these activities on the days in which they take place. More information can be obtained by contacting the church office (see Contact Us page for number and mail)

 CHILDREN/ YOUTH GATHERINGS Knox’s youth program has been handed over completely to  St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, 333 Rossland Rd. N. Oshawa from September 2023. Feel free to contact them.

CHOIR  We invite anyone who believes they have a decent singing voice to come and enjoy the rehearsals and the music we provide during worship services on Sunday mornings. The choir is a 4 or 5 part choir which includes soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Currently the choir practices are on Thursday evenings 7:30, with warmup on Sunday morning from 10:30 a.m.

PRAYER SHAWL Group

Meetings usually at  1.30 p.m. once a month

SUNDAY SCHOOL is available for children from Kindergarten up to Grade 10. The children start in the worship service. After a Youth Time story, they all proceed to their various classes until the end of worship.

MEN’S BREAKFAST CLUB

Breakfast gatherings occasionally on Sat mornings. Ladies welcome.

The Lawrie Cormack  Women’s MISSIONARY Society (WMS) meets once a month on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m.  except July and August to study the missions of our church. New members are welcome!

SESSION 

Usually they meet once a month,  except during  the two summer holiday months.    

GIRL GUIDES, ON Council 

Using the West Hall  on most Tuesdays, except holidays,  6.30 – 8.30 p.m.

OUTREACH:

FOOD CUPBOARD 

2nd and 4th Thu. of each month   10-12 noon

It is run by volunteers from the congregation.  Once a year there is also a winter drive and coats, mitts, toques are distributed. New visitors need to be registered with ID.

An outreach team visits  Fairview Lodge, Chartwell, and Extendicare once per month.
