About

Motto of Faith

“Living our lives in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ;  standing firm in one Spirit; striving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel”

The congregation of Mount Zion makes up for size with its sincerity and compassion for others.  We have become family-like in our structure and enjoy this caring nature for each other and for newcomers alike.  All visitors are welcomed into our midst for Worship Services and other events.  Our members do not claim to be perfect Christians, so sinners and the “slightly sinful” will fit right in! Our dress code is varied – dress up or casual or jeans.  Music varies from praise time to traditional favourites.

Part of our outreach program is community oriented.  We have been blessed with a beautiful, historical church building and we are pleased to make it available for use by those beyond our congregation.  The acoustics which the sanctuary offers has made it a favourite choice for many community events such as the annual Remembrance Day Service; annual Community Christmas Carol Evening and other presentations by the Ridge Players and the Ridgetown Community Choir.  The Ridgetown Girls Chorus have made this facility their “home base” since formation and others find it useful for recitals and one-time events.

Mount Zion Church Hall has been home to the Ridgetown Kiwanis Club for 55 years. Included in this arrangement is catering by our Helping Hands group for the club’s weekly dinner meetings. This area has provided a suitable meeting place for other groups, in addition to those within the congregation.  Our Sunday School and newly refurbished nursery area  provide a welcoming atmosphere for children to meet and to learn how God relates to their young lives.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”   Matthew 18:20
