Death announcement -James Wilson Archibald

July 12, 1927 – March 10, 2024

James passed away on March 10, 2024 at the age of 96, at Hawthorn Woods C.C.  James leaves behind loving children, Linda (Hank) and Gail.  Grandchildren Sarah (Adam), Rachel (Greg) and Jonathan (Natalie).  James was also Great-Granda to Emma, Gabriella, Goldie, Antonio, Archie & Christian.  He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Margaret (Dec 2020) and his son Philip James Archibald (May 2018).

James will be greatly missed by relatives and friends.

Cremation has already taken place.

James was a founding (charter) member of North Bramalea Presbyterian Church and much loved member of our church family.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all the staff at Hawthorn Woods Care Community for the care shown to James during his time there.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North Bramalea Presbyterian Church in memory of James.

Death announcement – Erma Marguerite Thorburn

1921-2022

Passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton at the age of 101 years. Beloved wife of the late Jack Thorburn. Lovingly remembered by daughters Kathryn, Janice (Vince) and Susan. Cherished grandmother of the late Christopher, Simon (Brandy), Matthew (Melinda), Galen (Pamela), Colin (Sarah), Cara (Andrew), Meghan (Jeff) and Noah (Amanda). Dearest Gigi of 13 great-grandchildren who were the delight of her last years. Erma was predeceased by all 11 of her well-loved brothers and sisters, and will be remembered affectionately by her many nieces and nephews.
Erma lived a long, happy, adventurous life. In her early working life, Erma served in the CWAC in Ottawa and Moncton. She spent the rest of her career life as a respected shorthand reporter in Toronto.
Erma’s final care has been entrusted to Ward Funeral Home in Brampton. Family and friends will be received at the North Bramalea Presbyterian Church, 925 North Park Dr. Brampton on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. To safely manage and adhere to current social distancing requirements and capacity regulations, please RSVP for the visitation and funeral service at www.wardfuneralhome.com The family has provided the opportunity to view a live stream of the funeral service (NBPC YouTube channel)  from the comfort of your own home which will be available on Erma’s page on the Ward Funeral Home website. Death announcement – Leslie Hugh Smith

SEPTEMBER 27, 1937 – JUNE 4, 2021

Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 in Maple Grove Care Community at the age of 83. He is survived by his Loving wife of 61 years Jean. Beloved father to Linda and predeceased by his son Michael. Proud grandfather to Ryan. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Les had a very successful career at Harding Carpets. He enjoyed water color painting (landscapes), playing the guitar and playing Crokinol with his grandson Ryan. Les and Jean enjoyed travelling to different countries.

Leslie’s Celebration of Life took place June 9th, 2021.

Death announcement – Lesa Alice Ann Gajadhar

JUNE 7, 1950 – APRIL 7, 2021

After a long battle with cancer, Lesa passed away peacefully at Bethell Hospice on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the age of 70. She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Steve (d. 2016). Survived by her mother Jean Herchak. Loving mother to Sharon and Aaron and his wife Diana. Adoring Baba to Isabella, Ethan, Georgia, Eva and Kinzlee. She will be sadly missed by her fur baby Sophie. Dear sister to Rodney, Melvyne, Sonia (d. 2017), and Harvey (d. 1992).

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.  Lesa was a sweet and gentle soul who loved the Lord and in her life showed that love to the world.

In memoriam donations may be made to the Bethell Hospice Foundation in Lesa’s honour. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family has chosen to keep all services private. The family appreciates all the love and support given during this difficult time.

We regret to announce the death of Rolph Ian Stevenson Kernahan who passed away on Sat. Dec.19/20 at Milton hospital at age 81.
Rolph was the husband of Florence Kernahan (former NBPC elder) father of Natasha (Ian), grandfather of Caleb and Alexander Ian.

passed away after a short illness at home on December 18, 2020, at the age of 91. Margaret leaves behind her loving husband of 70 years, Jim, loving children, Linda (Hank) and Gail.  Grandchildren Sarah, Rachel and Jonathan. Margaret was also Great Nannie to Emma, Gabriella and Goldie. She was predeceased by her son Philip James Archibald (2018).

Margaret will be greatly missed by her many relatives and friends.

Margaret was a founding (charter ) member of North Bramalea Presbyterian Church and much loved member of this church family.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private funeral.

Death Announcement – Rose Limebeer

Nov. 21st: One of our longtime members, Rose Limebeer, passed away peacefully early this morning following a long illness. 

Rosemond Limebeer (Monk) passed away peacefully at her home in Brampton on November 21st in her 84th year. She was born to the late Montrose and Winnie (Gillard) Monk of Tillsonburg on May 27, 1937 and was the loving sister of Geraldine Meacham and Lucille West. She was a well-loved aunt to Mary Herold, John Meacham (Karen), Peter West (Lori), Paul West (Kim), Michael West (Lenore), great aunt to Ian, Anna, Owen, Emily, Annika, Carly, Malcolm, Owen, Simon, Will and Ruby and great- great aunt to Zoey, August and Vincent. She will also be missed by her many friends and neighbors including those at Probus and North Bramalea Presbyterian church.
She remained active in her community and volunteered for the Cancer Society. She always kept a positive attitude in the face of her recent illness. She was an avid walker and enjoyed her visits to the cottage on Lake Huron.
The family is appreciative of the kind support of her friends, neighbors and caregivers and of the special and loving attention given by Mike and Lenore in her final days. Memories and messages of condolence can be left at Scott Funeral Home – Brampton Chapel. A private family service and internment will be held in Springford. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society, North Bramalea Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice.
