Minister of Word, Sacrament and Pastoral Care: The Rev. Michelle Brotherton

Rev. Brotherton is the full-time Minister of St. Paul’s United Church, Bowmanville. When St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church entered into the Ecumenical Shared Ministry with St. Paul’s, Rev. Brotherton took  on the spiritual leadership position at St. Andrew’s as our full-time Minister as well.

Rev. Brotherton routinely leads Sunday worship services, conducts mid-week Bible Study, provides pastoral care, baptisms, weddings, funerals, community engagement, church management, and so much more. Her preaching is well-prepared, thoughtful, and challenging. She has a gift of making you feel “heard”. She draws out children’s responses with her keen sense of humour. Rev. Brotherton conducts Bible Studies, where she shows great sensitivity to the direction of scripture, and supports participants in their questions or concerns, in a very non-judgmental way.

Interim Moderator: Rev. Ann Blane

Rev. Blane currently is the Moderator of the Presbytery of Lindsay-Peterborough, works 60% part-time as the minister in Lakefield, and is the Interim Moderator for 3 Presbyterian churches.

Rev. Blane is the link between the Presbytery and the congregation of St. Andrew’s. She facilitates the Session meetings and provides guidance and support to St. Andrew’s as we begin the ESM participative relationship.
