Technology and Audio-Visual Support Coordinator

Technology and the use of Audio-Visual is integral to our church worship and outreach.  The Technology and Audio-Visual Support Coordinator, in collaboration with the Minister, the Office Staff and Technology/Audio-Visual Volunteer Team, provides seamless (integrated) in-person and on-line worship experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of live broadcasting, Open Broadcasting Software and VMix operation.  Additionally, be able to manage varying hardware-software technological operations.

 JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide technology support to Church staff and volunteers.
  • Work with Church staff to develop and enhance all aspects of St. Paul’s virtual church experience.
  • Ensure all audio, lighting and camera equipment is maintained and operating correctly.
  • Coordinate audio visual for livestreaming Sunday services and special Church events including integrating videos, special signage and live ZOOM meetings.
  • Train volunteers on the operation of all audio, lighting and camera equipment used in the St. Paul’s live and virtual church programming.
  • Develop appropriate operational and training manuals for volunteers involved in all aspects of virtual church services.
  • Ensure the posting of all virtual programming on VIMEO and the St Paul’s website following all livestream Sunday and special services such as during Holy weeks at Christmas and Easter.
  • Work with Technology Committee to schedule volunteers for all live stream programming.
  • Coordinate website updating and social media posting by providing the appropriate infrastructure support.
  • Support the maintenance and service of all computer, photocopier, and printer hardware used by church staff.
  • Ensure the procurement and renewal of all Software Licenses required by the Church including all appropriate security systems.
  • Ensure appropriate backups of all computers/networks is performed.
  • Advise and suggest best practices for integrating all aspects of St Paul’s virtual church experience.

Work Hours:

  • 10 hours per week [average]
  • 3-4 hours, 9:00am to 1:00pm on Sundays, mandatory initially
  • 6-7 hours, Flexible time, but available to meet staff during their regular working hours.

Remuneration range:  $20.00-$24.00/h

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in the use of audio visual and computer technology
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience with maintaining social media, and working with social networking, email  marketing and search engines
  • Demonstrates problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong writing and copy-editing abilities

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School or Post-Secondary Diploma or Equivalent
  • Proficiency with Computer Software: Microsoft Office, Audio & Video editing, Videoconferencing
  • Demonstrated experience with current social media platforms
  • Digital photography and video editing experience a plus
