Service Info for Oct. 2, 2022

Dear Friends,

This Sunday in our church, we will observe World Communion Sunday. We will remember the special meal that Jesus shared with His disciples. We will also join them for this sacred fellowship with our brothers and sisters in God. Please prepare your own communion elements for those participating in the Lord’s Supper at your place via Zoom. For those who plan to partake in this holy assembly, please receive prepackaged communion items from greeting elders before you take a seat at the church.

In addition to this particular venue, we will launch a new sermon series, “40 Days of Community,” in our communion service. This message might be “counter-cultural” since we, as Canadians, love our independence. In a way, that thought would be proper. If we are independent in many ways, we will be the happiest. And yet, we still hear and see many unhappy independent individuals. According to the Bible, happiness comes from “interdependence – from the community.” Over the next six Sundays, we will explore the following question: “What on earth are WE here for.” As I stated before, for us as a newly merged church, this new study, “Better Together,” would be critical since we are moving forward into a new beginning and a new ministry as a Heavenly team.

With these notes, I invite you to join us in a hybrid worship service at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. This divine assembly will also be broadcasted online. The Zoom link below will open at 9:45 a.m. Before the service, the announcement slides will be presented to the congregation at the sanctuary and on Zoom.

FYI 1: Hybrid Bible Study “40 Days of Community” by Rick Warren – Session Four: Growing Together – Wednesday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s & Via Zoom with the same Zoom ID and Passcode used for Sunday services. Please feel free to attend whenever possible!

FYI 2: Donations to the local Salvation Army Food Bank will be collected next Sunday, October 9. All donations are greatly appreciated.
