Service Info for April 24, 2022

Dear Friends,

Have we been inspired to pursue our God-empowered dream in the coming days? This Sunday, we will explore God’s new things for our loved ones, our church and each of us and look around with the eyes of faith what God is preparing during our spiritual adventure. In addition to the message “Open to a New Thing,” we will view two video presentations. The first one is designed for young people to learn some stories after the Cross – the death of Jesus and the Crown – the resurrection of Christ. The second one is prepared for those who want to know more about a spiritual being called “The New Humanity” that God has made through the ministry of Jesus Christ. During prayer time, we will have the opportunity of asking God to provide His healing and comfort for our loved ones and us. After the service, a Zoom fellowship will be held for those online participants who wish to join via Zoom.

As usual, in-person worship will be held at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. A virtual service will also be broadcast via Zoom at the same time. The Zoom link will open at 9:45 a.m., and the announcement slides will be presented before the service both at the sanctuary and on Zoom. A copy of the service info, including the sermon, is attached.

Please remember that everyone is encouraged to wear a mask for the sake of everyone while being inside of the church and during the service.

Below are the upcoming Sunday worship service leaders:

May 1: Dan Schley
May 8: Mark Mitchell
May 15: Rev. Barney Grace
May 22: Ray Coker
*May 29: Rev. Henry Huberts

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the Jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise” (Isaiah 43:19-21).

Blessings,

Caleb

Service Info for April 17, 2022

Dear Friends,

Happy Easter! This Sunday, we will conclude our sermon series “God’s Dream for Your Life” with the final stage of faith called “From Dead-End to Deliverance.” Has any of us and/or our loved one ever gone through a nowhere turn situation? I believe that many of us have encountered those stumbling obstacles in our faith journey. While worshipping God with all our hearts on Easter Sunday, we can express our sincere gratitude to the Lord who has saved our loved ones and us from difficulties. We can perceive what God is doing for our loved ones and us today. Furthermore, by faith and in prayer, we can expect something great from the Lord our Saviour and attempt something great to the Lord our Deliver in the coming days.

On top of the Easter sermon described above, we will have special music brought to us by Reid Torrey, Piper. We will also have two video presentations. The first one called “Ukraine Easter Eggs” was done by the late Anne Fernley. On Easter Sunday, either in 2009 or 2010, she shared a wonderful story on that topic. During this Easter celebration, our prayers and thoughts go to those affected by the terrible Russians’ invasions of Ukraine. May God’s Everlasting Eternal Word be upon the Ukraine people! Христос воскрес! – Christ has risen! The second one is about Luke’s account of the Resurrection of Jesus.

With this note, this Easter Sunday, I want to invite you to explore the vision of God who raised His Only Son, Jesus Christ, from the dead. As usual, the worship will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Sunday, April 17, 2022, via Zoom. The Zoom link will open at 9:45 a.m., and the announcement slides will be played before the service. A copy of the service info, including the sermon, is attached.

I am taking my holiday from April 27 to June 1, 2022. My wife and I plan to take my mom back to her home during that time. We would appreciate your prayers for our safe trip. During my absence, Rev. Bob Quick will be covering pastoral emergency care. You can get his contact info from your elders.

Below are the Sunday Worship Leaders:
May 1: Dan Schley
May 8: Mark Mitchell
May 15: Rev. Barney Grace
May 22: Ray Coker
May 29: Rev. Henry Huberts

The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification (Romans 4:23-25).

Blessings,

Caleb

Good Friday Service Info

Dear Friends,
“Christians around the world gather during Holy Week to journey with Jesus during the final hours of his life through contemplation and prayer. In recent years, many churches in the Reformed tradition have been creatively adapting the Stations of the Cross exercise, historically practiced by Anglicans and Catholics, to suit the theological vision and spiritual needs of Reformed worshippers” (Excerpt from the Interactive Stations of the Cross in The Presbyterian Church in Canada).
The nine below out of the 14 Traditional Stations of the Cross were selected for our Good Friday service.
1) Jesus on the Mount of Olives: Luke 22:39-46
2) Jesus, Betrayed by Judas, Is Arrested: Luke 22:47-48
3) Peter Denies Jesus: Luke 22:54-62
4) Jesus is Judged by Pilate: Luke 23:13-25
5) Jesus Takes Up the Cross: Mark 15:20
6) Jesus is Crucified: Luke 23:33-4, 47
7) Jesus on the Cross, His Mother, and His Disciple: John 19:25-27
8) Jesus Dies on the Cross: Luke 23:44-47
9) Jesus is Placed in the Tomb: Luke 23:50-54; Mark 16:1-4
We will explore each station for prayer and reflection during the Good Friday service. Visual elements related to the Cross of the Stations (also known as The Way of Sorrows) will be presented. Reid Torrey will provide special music on bagpipes. Please plan to participate in this sacred walk with Jesus prayerfully. Each of us is welcome to come to Christ as we are.
The in-person worship will be held at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls, at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, April 15, 2022. The service will also be broadcast via Zoom. The Zoom link will open at 9:45 a.m., and a copy of the service info is attached.
Then He [Jesus Christ] said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23).
Blessings,
Caleb

Service Info for April 10, 2022

Dear Friends,

Please, once again, pay attention to the following two important announcements:

Firstly, “By authority of the Session of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Fenelon Falls, a congregational meeting has been scheduled for Sunday April 10th 2022 after the service of worship. We will conduct this meeting in the church as well as via the Zoom platform and encourage all members and adherents to attend. The agenda item is regarding the proposed amalgamation of Knox Presbyterian Church Glenarm with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Fenelon Falls. This is the first notice dated April 3rd, 2022.”

As the COVID-19 virus is still present in our community we would ask that everyone wear masks while inside the church building and during the worship service.”

This Sunday, we will explore the fourth phase of “God’s Dream for Your Life”, called Difficulty, by following the Dream, Decision, and Delay stages. Every dreamer in the Bible has experienced some challenges before their God-given vision came true. We will learn how to deal with difficulty from the Apostle Paul through the message. We will watch two videos related to Palm/Passion Sunday. The first one is designed for children and shows Jesus’ triumphal entry to Jerusalem. The other story is for adults and presents the word’s origins for the Gospel and its relationships with Jesus and His proclamation of God’s kingdom.

As usual, the service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2022, and the Zoom link will open at 9:45 a.m. The announcement slides will be played before the service. A copy of the worship order is attached.

Please note: A copy of this Sunday’s message is not enclosed in this service link, but it will be shared later in a different email.

*Reid Torrey will present bagpipe music at both services.

“Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar, and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just he told me” (Acts 27:23-25).

Blessings,

Caleb

This Sunday, we will look at the third stage of God’s Six Phases of Faith, called Delay, by following the first phase, Dream, the second, Delay, in our service. Every dreamer in the Lord has experienced some waiting period before their God-given vision comes true. During that period, God “uses delays to prepare us” to rely on the Lord firmly and “test us” to develop His divine characters. We will view two videos related to this topic. The first one is designed for children and shows the persevered faith journey of little David to become the king of Israel. The other story is for adults and teaches spiritual meanings of God’s tests in the Bible.
