“And Mary said: My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior” (Luke 1:46-47).
This Sunday, we will launch an Advent sermon series titled “Christmas Songs” in our worship service. Christmas is a time for music! Christmas and carols go together. The word “carol” means a song of praise and joy. Melodies used to be written for and sung during all four seasons. But singing them at Christmas only has traditionally survived. In the next four Sundays, we will look at the first and second chapters of Luke’s Gospel and explore the first four Christmas carols sung by Zechariah, Mary, a group of Angels, and Simeon. Each anthem has been known by its opening Latin words: Benedictus, Magnificat, Gloria, and Nunc dimittis.
Next Sunday, a Community Carol Sing organized by Fenelon Falls Association of Churches will also be held at Fenelon Falls United Church. Barbara Dune-Prosser will present Christmas music on behalf of our church. Her high school friend, Barb Vant Erve, will accompany her. On top of her presentation, Barbara has been involved in a unique project, “Anne Langton: An Anglican Church Woman in Fenelon Falls.” This historically remarkable exhibition can be viewed at the following link: https://www.communitystories.ca/v2/anne-langton-anglican-church_l-eglise-d-angleterre/
The beautiful Christmas decorations have recently been set up at St. Andrew’s sanctuary by Wilma and Soon Hwa under the guidance of Stan. You will enjoy the Christmas message through this visual method.

“In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever” (Joshua 4:6-7).
On behalf of the former Board and Session members at Knox Glenarm, we want to express our appreciation to the St Andrew’s Session for recognizing many of Glenarm’s special sacred items at the particular service and placing all well at the New House of God. Glenarm people have been pleased to see the little Glenarm church museum at St. Andrew’s. The descendants will continuously remember the God of Glenarm and their ancestors’ faith through it.
On behalf of the newly merged congregation, we want to thank the Southern and Hawkins families for their generous bequests to the church. With some of the contributions, we enhanced our church’s audio-visual system and dedicated it to the Lord last Sunday. That equipment will be significantly used in the modern technical world to serve God’s ministry in person or via Zoom. On behalf of the Leadership Team, we recognize the behind-scene work that Dan, Donna and Stan have put in for this installation and thank them.
On behalf of the Leadership Team, we present our gratitude to the Lord our God and pass on our gratefulness to all of you for your continued prayers and ongoing support for the New Ministry.
I have placed below the YouTube links (unlisted) to some content at the October 23 Hybrid Service of New Beginning and Dedication.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37).
This Sunday, at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls, we plan to do a couple of things in our divine assembly. Firstly, we will recognize and rededicate some of Glenarm’s sacred items before the Lord. We will acknowledge the enhanced audio-visual equipment installed at St. Andrew’s sanctuary and dedicate this gift to God’s Kingdom ministry in loving memory of Tom Southern and Edna Hawkins. As Christ’s newly amalgamated Church, we will also save our hearts to God. We pray that God can help us to “communicate faith, hope and love by supporting and serving our congregation and the local community.” Please pray about this divine ministry and participate in this spiritually privileged mission for the glory of the Triune Lord.
